Privacy Policy

Nuggget is a family coordination tool. We collect the minimum information needed to help parents delegate childcare tasks to trusted helpers. We do not sell your data. We do not track your family.

1. Who We Are

Nuggget is a family coordination application that helps parents delegate childcare tasks — like activity drop-offs and pickups — to a trusted circle of helpers. You can reach us at hi@nuggget.app.

2. What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

Parents: Your name, phone number, and email address.
Children: First name only, entered by a parent. We do not collect ages, dates of birth, photos, or any other information about children.
Helpers: Name and phone number, provided by the parent who adds them to their circle.
Activities: Activity names, times, and locations you enter to create tasks and calendar events.
Location data: When a helper completes a task handoff, we use GPS proximity to confirm arrival. Precise GPS coordinates are automatically deleted within 24 hours of the handoff. What we retain is only a confirmation timestamp.
Usage data: Standard server logs (IP address, device type, app version) for error tracking and service improvement.

3. Google Calendar Import

Nuggget offers an optional Google Calendar import feature. If you choose to use it, here is exactly how your Google Calendar data is handled:

What we read: Event titles, dates and times, locations, and recurrence rules from the calendars you explicitly select. We do not read attendee lists, private notes, or any calendar data outside what you choose.
Why we read it: To identify recurring family activities so you can import them into Nuggget without re-entering them by hand.
Access is on-demand: We read your calendar only when you tap "Connect Google Calendar" and initiate an import. We do not sync or monitor your calendar in the background.
Tokens are not stored: Your Google OAuth access token lives only on your device for the duration of the import session and is never written to our servers.
What we store: Only the activity data you explicitly confirm importing. Raw Google Calendar events are discarded immediately after processing.
Revocation: You can revoke Nuggget's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Nuggget's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to operate the Nuggget service:

To send task notifications and reminders to helpers via SMS
To confirm task handoffs and notify parents when a helper has arrived
To sync the family schedule between co-parents
To authenticate users and secure accounts
To send transactional emails (such as a welcome email on signup)
To troubleshoot errors and improve the service

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not build profiles. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes.

5. SMS Notifications

Nuggget sends SMS messages to helpers on behalf of parents. These are transactional messages — sent only in direct response to a parent creating a task. We do not send unsolicited or marketing messages.

All SMS messages sent to helpers include opt-out instructions. Recipients may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

6. Information About Children

Nuggget is designed for parents, not children. Children do not create accounts and do not interact with the app. The only information we store about a child is a first name, entered by their parent, used solely to label calendar events and tasks.

We do not collect ages, photos, school information, or any other data about children beyond a first name. We do not share any information about children with third parties.

7. Sharing Your Information

We share data with service providers who help us operate Nuggget:

Twilio — SMS delivery
Supabase — database hosting
Railway — server hosting
Google Maps — location search during event creation
Anthropic — natural language processing for task input (text only, no personal details sent)
SendGrid — transactional email

All providers are contractually required to use your data only to provide services to us. We do not sell data to any party.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of users in an emergency.

8. Data Retention

GPS coordinates: Deleted within 24 hours of handoff confirmation
Completed tasks: Retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted
Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleting your account permanently deletes all family data within 30 days.
SMS delivery logs: Retained for 90 days for troubleshooting
Google Calendar data: OAuth tokens are never stored. Raw calendar events are not retained. Only activities you confirm importing are kept, until you delete them or your account.

9. Your Rights

Delete your account and all data at any time from app settings
Request a copy of your data by emailing hi@nuggget.app
Opt out of SMS by replying STOP to any message
Revoke Google Calendar access at myaccount.google.com/permissions
Remove a helper from your circle at any time, immediately revoking their access

10. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and time-limited authentication tokens. Helper web links expire automatically after the related task ends.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify users of material changes via the app or SMS. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
